Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse in the heart of the Gold Coast announces the continuation of their monthly Wine Dinner Series with a Groth Vineyards and Winery Dinner on Tuesday, April 6 at 6:30 PM. Gibsons Executive Chef Randy Waidner will prepare a seven-course dinner featuring Niman Ranch natural meats.
Groth Vineyards and Winery owner Suzanne Groth will lead the wine discussion portion of this event. Suzanne oversees all aspects of direct-to-consumer sales including the retail room and the popular Team Red Stripe and Groth Cabernet Only wine clubs. Alongside her duties at the winery, she serves as the Napa County District Director for The Wine Institute, is active with Oakville Winegrowers, and serves on a committee for the Napa Valley Vintners Association. Intertwining her art, family, and work, with each release of a Groth Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Suzanne produces a new painting.
The seven-course event begins with Red Pepper Crackers with Soft Feta, Black Olive Puree and Open Faced Corned Duck Rueben’s paired with 2009 Sauvignon Blanc. Five courses will follow, including Niman Ranch Pork Belly with Potato Apple Puree, Caramelized Pearl Onions, Apple Maiche Salad, Braised Pork Cheek and Ras el Hanout Emulsion paired with 2007 Oakville Cabernet and Niman Ranch Prime Beef Strip Steak with “Red Hot” Glazed Beets, Golden Beet Puree Cocoa Nibs, and Tobacco Demi paired with 1994 Oakville Cabernet. The decadent meal will finish with a Fois Gras Crème Brulée with Sweet Genevieve Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc. Complete menu and wine pairings are below.
