Carnivale May Cocktails and Live Music

This May, Carnivale introduces new spring cocktails for guests to sip on while enjoying live Latin music and entertainment.  Carnivale Sommelier Elizabeth Mendez has created two refreshing cocktails available for the month of May including the Carnivale Horizon Martini (Herradura Blanco with blood orange infusion, blood orange puree, topped with cava and fresh lemon juice, $9.50) and Pear Crush (Herradura Reposado with pear puree, fresh lime juice, amaretto and club soda, $9.75). 

Every Wednesday from 7:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Carnivale takes its vibrant bar scene to the next level with a full schedule of live music featuring some of Chicago’s most renowned Latin bands.  Admission is free (See full schedule below).

A Carnivale favorite, 2004 Grammy Nominee Angel Melendez and his quartet will perform on Wednesday, May 12.  The skilled composer and trombonist will lead a smooth, yet uplifting jazz set sure to stir the audience in motion.  Having played some of the great Chicago venues including The Chicago Symphony Center, Millennium Park’s Pritzker Pavilion, The House of Blues and The Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, Angel Melendez has grown to become one of the most recognized Latin musicians in Chicago.

Additional featured bands this May include Carpacho & Su Super Combo on Wednesday, May 26.  While guests indulge in the Carnivale Horizon Martini and the Pear Crush, they will be treated to the tropical sounds of Carpacho featuring Salsa, Merenque, Cumbia and Bolero.
