Duke’s May Events

Guests can celebrate spring at Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen with great specials and events running all month long.  From live jazz and karaoke to Green Drinks networking opportunities and holiday celebrations, Duke’s is the Crystal Lake entertainment headquarters.  Featured events this May include the Great Lakes Seed to Stomach Beer Dinner on Wednesday, May 12 (see details below) and Duke’s Patio Grand Opening Party from Thursday, May 20 – Sunday, May 23 (see details below).

National Hamburger Month
In celebration of National Hamburger Month, Duke’s will offer $4 Black Angus Beef Burgers every Tuesday throughout the month.  Guests can add a side for just $3.

Kentucky Derby Viewing at Duke’s
Saturday, May 1from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen presents the most exciting two minutes in sports on five Flat Screen HD TVs in the main bar area.  From 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Duke’s will offer 35¢ wings and $7 Maker’s Mark Mint Juleps.  Guests who wear a festive hat will be entered into a hat contest where the winner will receive a $25 Duke’s gift card.

Green Drinks
Wednesday, May 5 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Guests will enjoy Duke’s signature El Patron Margaritas (El Patron Silver Tequila, Citronge, fresh squeezed lemons and limes, and local honey on the rocks).  Drinks will be paired with complimentary small bites.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration
Wednesday, May 5
On May 5, guests can enjoy Mexican drink specials including Duke’s El Patron Margarita (El Patron Silver Tequila, Citronge, fresh squeezed lemons and limes, and local honey, $7.50) and the Strawberry-Mint Mojtio (Bacardi Rum, fresh lime and strawberries, mint, soda, $7.50).  Duke’s will offer their signature house margarita for $3.  In addition, Duke’s will kick off their month-long Mexican-themed specials featuring menu items like Marlin Ceviche ($8), Nacho Pizza ($9), Tempura Fried Fish Tacos with cole slaw and pineapple salsa ($13), Pork Carnita Burrito ($13), and Tres Leches Cheesecake ($6).

Barefoot Fred CD Release Party
Saturday, May 8
After Durty Nellie’s Beer Fest, guests can take the train back to Duke’s for a one-of-a-kind performance by Barefoot Fred (psychedelic rock), celebrating the release of their first studio recorded album.  Guests can enjoy $3 Well Drinks and $5 Vodka Red-Bulls.

Duke’s Mother’s Day Breakfast and Lunch Celebration
Sunday, May 9, Starting at 11:30 AM
Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen invites families to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9.  Mother’s who dine at Duke’s will receive a flower and $10 gift certificate to be used on their next visit.  Duke’s will offer children special Mother’s Day cards to decorate while dining.  Diners can enjoy Duke’s menu a la carte or enjoy the create-your-own omelet station including pancakes, sausage, bacon and fruit for $10 per adult and $6 per child.  Reservations strongly advised.

Duke’s Great Lakes Seed to Stomach Beer Dinner
Wednesday, May 12 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
This May, Duke’s invites guests to enjoy a four-course dinner featuring local farmer’s produce, meats and cheeses.  Each course will be paired with Great Lakes Beers including Dortmunder Gold, Holy Moses, Burning River, Commodore Perry, and Edmund Fitzgerald.  In addition to learning about the Great Lakes Brewery, Duke’s will be introducing their exciting new culinary adventure – Duke’s Farm.  Guests will be able to enjoy fresh produce planted, grown, and picked at their peak under Duke’s watchful eye.

Patio Grand Opening Party
Thursday, May 20 – Sunday, May 23
Thursday: Mexican infused jazz music from the Rick Embach Duo from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on the patio followed by live entertainment from musician Dave Sarkis at 10:00 PM.  Specials include $5 Pitchers Bud/Bud Light, $4 Bomb Shots and Half-Priced Bottles of House Wine with $20 in food purchases.
Friday: Experimental-Acoustic Rock music of Michael Kelsey along with $3 Well Vodka, Gin, and Rum Drinks and $5 Red Bull Vodkas.
Saturday: Duke’s presents the Americana music of Bootleg Prophets and $3 Well Vodka, Gin, and Rum Drinks and $5 Red Bull Vodkas.
Sunday: From 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, patrons can participate in Duke’s Spring Bags Tournament.  Entry fee is $10 per team and includes two drink tickets.  Duke’s will bring the grilling on the patio for the day (weather permitting).  Participants and spectators can enjoy $4 Pitchers and $4 Bomb Shots.  The lucky winner will receive two Cubs tickets, including a train pass and drinking package at Duke’s for before and after the game.

Located in charming and historic downtown Crystal Lake, Duke’s is conveniently situated next to the Metra Northwest line station.  The reinvented upscale-casual dining concept features craft brews and a menu of eclectic American food including gourmet sandwiches and comfort food all made with local organic products and the freshest ingredients.
