Opening Soon: Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse Oakbrook Location

Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse announces the opening of their third and latest dining destination in Oakbrook scheduled to open June 1 with an opening event to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Chicago on May 31.  Located at the corner of Spring Road and Commerce Drive, Gibsons Oakbrook will be spearheaded by Gibsons Corporate Executive Chef Randy Waidner and Executive Chef Brian Key.  Gibsons Oakbrook will embody the classic Gibsons dining experience with big flavor steaks and chops, fresh fish daily, and impressive lobster tails—all matched with an extensive wine list.  Gibsons Oakbrook will bring an upbeat, upscale atmosphere to Oakbrook with live music selected by Professor John, generous portions of celebrated food, and legendary service for both lunch and dinner.

The interior space, designed by Mark Knauer (known for his design of the original Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, Luxbar, and Quartino among others), will have high ceilings, elegant chandeliers and rich wood paneling to recall the classic steakhouse style for which Gibsons has become famous.

Gibsons Oakbrook boasts numerous outdoor spaces which have the capacity to seat 200 and include a lounge area with three toasty fire pits, an Alpine Waterfall feature off the outdoor dining area and a full outdoor bar.

Says Managing partner Gregg Horan, who opened the highly successful Rosemont location along with sister-restaurant Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House in Naperville, “Gibsons’ Oakbrook location is almost complete and the staff is excited to get up and running. We think it is a great market for Gibsons style food and service and have been trying to open a restaurant here for a long time. We’re looking forward to being a member of the community and creating 180 jobs in the neighborhood.”

Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse on Rush Street was founded in 1980 and is celebrating its twentieth year in business. Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse started a revolutionary dining style in Chicago and expanded to Rosemont in 2000.  A favorite of celebrities like Johnny Depp, Jeremy Piven, and Michael Rappaport, Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse was recently recognized as the tenth highest grossing independent restaurant in the country by Restaurants & Institutions, Gibsons is an explosive concept.
