Dinner courses include Garganelli con Ragu D’Agnello and Gnocchi with Green Beans, Potatoes and Arugula Pesto paired with a 2007 Opolo Barbera, Brasato di Manzo con Salsa Verde and Salsiccia con Scarole with Opolo’s 2005 Sangiovese, and Tiramisu Ricetta Tradizionale and Cannoli alla Siciliana paired with Opolo’s 2008 Late Harvest Zinfandel. Complete menu is available upon request.
Opolo Vineyards is located on a beautiful 70 Acre mountain site in For Out Paso Robles. Here, the poor mountain soils and high daytime temperatures which drop dramatically at night, combine to yield the intense grapes necessary to produce fine wine. Opolo also has over 230 Acres on the dramatically warmer East Side of Paso Robles.
Most Opolo wines are estate grown, produced and bottled. Production is typically less than 500 cases per varietal. Big mountain zinfandels, classic zinfandels, full-bodied Pinot Noirs, Cab Franc, Counoise, Barbera, Malbec, Merlots, Syrahs, Sangiovese along with mouth-watering Viogniers and Roussanne are included in Opolo’s list of specialties. In recent years, The San Francisco Chronicle Wine-competition has honored Opolo with Double Gold for its 2005 Zinfandel Reserve, plus ten out of ten other awards for excellence. Previously, the chronicle awarded Double Gold to Opolo’s Mountain Zinfandel, and 17 out 17 other awards for excellence. At present, Opolo produces over 24 different varieties of wine, each consistently unique and ready to accommodate a tremendous range of palates
