Grotto Oak Brook Hosts Jordan Winery Dinner

Guests can take a tour of Alexander Valley this October as Jordan Winery hosts an exclusive wine dinner at Grotto Italian Steakhouse in Oak Brook.  Master Sommelier Serfin Alvarado will host as patrons enjoy 5-courses expertly paired with an array of Jordan wines.  Menu highlights include: Capellini with Crab Meat, Beef Tenderloin with Cabernet Sauce, and Chocolate Covered Strawberries with Apple Tart and Wild Berries.  Featured wines include: Jordan Chardonnay, Jordan Cabernet, Jordan Vintage Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, and Rivie’re Russe (full menu and pairings below).

Lakeview Baseball Club Tickets for Northwestern vs. Illinois

This November 20, Chicagoans can watch the highly anticipated Northwestern University versus University of Illinois game at Wrigley Field from a sky-high rooftop vantage point at Lakeview Baseball Club.  Capacity is limited to an intimate 100 people, so football fans are encouraged to reserve their spots early.  

Reservation price includes watching the game in style on one of Lakeview Baseball Club’s three levels of space (heated third-floor Club Room, rooftop bleacher seating for 100, outdoor seating on two levels), beer and wine at two bars and full game-day buffets.  

Game menus include tailgating classics like build-your-own nachos, chili bar, and quesadillas along with classic comfort foods like beef brisket, mashed potatoes and four cheese lasagna followed by Ghiradelli Chocolate brownies and assorted gourmet cookies.

With great views over right field, Lakeview Baseball Club was the first of the rooftop clubs, is the only private club across from Wrigley Field and is best known for its sign reading “Eamus Catuli!” (roughly Latin for “Let’s Go Cubs!”) on its façade.

Chicago Cut Steakhouse to Unveil Breakfast

Chicago Cut Steakhouse announces the launch of their power breakfast and weekend brunch beginning Monday, October 18.  Breakfast will be available Monday through Friday from 7AM to 10 AM and Saturday and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Chicago Cut Steakhouse – located in the heart of Chicago’s business district at 300 N. LaSalle and right on the Chicago River – provides the perfect backdrop to impress clients or out-of-town guests alongside the City’s impressive skyline.  The delectable breakfast menu will feature updated traditions including Starters, Fruit and Berries, Grainery, Organic Farm Eggs, and much more.  Breakfast menu highlights will include: Citrus Smoked Salmon Bagel ($11), Chicago Cut Corn Beef Hash ($12), Organic Egg White Omlette ($14), and Vanilla Challah French Toast ($12).  A sample of the breakfast menu is below and the full menu is available upon request. 

Guests are also invited enjoy the restaurant’s daily lunch and dinner menus along with a global wine list  presented via interactive iPads that offers flyover panoramic views of each vineyard and 360-degree scans of each bottle on offer.

Icon Theatre Opera Series Brunch

Opera fans and music lovers are invited to experience twelve screenings from The Metropolitan Opera this 2010 – 11 season.  Guests can catch all the action beginning October 9, 2010 through May 14, 2011 at the Kerasotes ShowPlace Icon Theatre located in the South Loop.  LIVE operas will be broadcast on Saturday during which patrons can indulge in an array of brunch items including a Truffled Egg and Bacon Pizza as well as Mimosa and Bloody Mary specials.

The broadcast will be presented live on the big screen in the auditorium at Icon with cutting edge digital cinema projectors with 26,000 watts of power for distortion-free listening.

This October, the Carnivale University Fall Semester will continue with a brand new alcohol-free dinner featuring Carnivale’s dishes paired with specialty non-alcoholic cocktails.  The dinner will feature 4-courses with highlights including: Austrailian Barramundi, Crispy Pork Belly and Cinnamon Stick Flan for dessert (full menu available upon request).

Carnivale University offers a comprehensive schedule of Mixology and Latin Cooking Classes, Unique Dinners and Entertaining Seminars — the perfect way for Chicagoans to learn about Latin culinary culture.  The Carnivale University Fall syllabus will include Carnivale favorites like Mojitos 101, signature dinners and cooking classes.
