Texas de Brazil Charles Tillman Benefit

 

WHAT: Texas de Brazil’s Chicago location announces their upcoming Celebrity Steak-Out hosted by Chicago Bears’ Charles Tillman to benefit the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation.  Guests will enjoy seasonal cocktails and complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to purchase authentic Chicago Bears memorabilia.  All proceeds will benefit The Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation and its mission of helping Chicago-area families in need.

Plus, Texas de Brazil will donate $2.00 from every regular-priced dinner between November 22 and December 6 to the Charles Tillman Cornerstone Foundation. Guests should mention the offer to their server.

Memorial Benefit for Paul Wildermuth at Red Light

Hosted by Howard Davis and Jerry Kleiner 

On Sunday, December 5 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Red Light Restaurant, Howard Davis and Jerry Kleiner will host a memorial fundraiser for the family of the late Chef  Paul Wildermuth, who passed away suddenly on November 13. Paul Wildermuth, 46, was a celebrated chef who specialized in contemporary Asian cuisine as well as French bistro cuisine.  He was formerly was executive chef at the KDK restaurants Opera, Red Light , Marche and Saiko. 

Event will feature some of Chef Paul’s famed dishes he created during his time as Executive Chef at Red Light including Asian 5 Spiced Ribs, Pork Dumplings with Hoisin Cognac Sauce and Spicy Peanut Noodle Salad.  Suggested minimum donation for the event is $25 per person.

 Chef Paul, as he was respectfully and affectionately called, was born in Oahu, Hawaii, and received his training at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. He then cooked at Red Sage in Washington and Stromboli Ristorante in his native Hawaii and refined his classical French skills as chef de cuisine and executive chef at Maxime’s in upstate New York. Once in Chicago, he first worked at Ben Pao, then moved on to Kleiner / Davis’ KDK Restaurant Group as Executive Chef of  Red Light. Later, Wildermuth  opened as Executive Chef of Opera in the South Loop to much critical acclaim, and then opened as Executive Chef  of Saiko restaurant in the South Loop. Chef Paul later oversaw as Executive Chef both Marche and Opera restaurants for KDK Restaurant Group. Most recently he was Executive Chef at the Briarwood Country Club in Deerfield, Illinois.

Chicagoans are invited to celebrate Thanksgiving in style and enjoy signature Thanksgiving menu items at The Lobby Lounge located in the ShowPlace Icon Theatre (full menu available below).  Seasonal beer specials will also be available and include: Wychcraft Pale Ale and Scarecrow Pale Ale for $12 each, and Hobgoblin Ale for $7.

WHAT: Chicago q, the city’s newest hot spot for upscale barbecue, invites Chicagoans to take the day off this Thanksgiving and enjoy a classic Thanksgiving feast at the talented hands of  award-winning Chef/Partner Lee Ann Whippen.  The Chicago q Thanksgiving is available for dine-in or carry out and can accommodate a holiday meal for up to 14 guests.

The star of Chicago q’s Thanksgiving feast is Whippen’s Free Range Smoked Turkey, smoked in-house and accompanied by Roasted Turkey Gravy and Vanilla Bean Cranberry Compote.  Sides include Mushroom Cream Sauce Haricot Vert Casserole, Whipped New Red and Yukon Gold Potatoes, Pork Sausage and Granny Smith Apple Stuffing, and Candied Fingerling Sweet Potatoes.
