WHAT: Red Light, Chicago’s venerable West Loop locale for Pan-Asian cuisine, celebrates Chinese New Year – the Year of the Rabbit – with a menu of savory specials featuring rabbit by their new Executive Chef Ryan Fowler.
Menu specials will include a Whole Roasted Rabbit ($60), which is meant to serve two people and only available while supplies last; Pulled Rabbit Siu Mai with a Spicy Mango Chili Sauce and Crunchy Thai Slaw ($10); Stuffed Fried Rabbit Loin, stuffed with Goat Cheese, Gailon and Dried Asian Pear served with a Rabbit Demi-Glace and Red Rice Risotto ($26); and a whimsical Carrot Cake for dessert ($8).
The Rabbit is the fourth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Occupying the 4th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Rabbit symbolizes such character traits as creativity, compassion, and sensitivity.
