Chicago Cut Steakhouse announced the appointment of veteran Chicago chef Jackie Shen as its new Executive Chef. Shen hails from Chicago’s Lawry’s The Prime Rib among other Chicago restaurant institutions.
Says Managing Partner David Flom, “My father used to bring me to Lawry’s The Prime Rib once a week to enjoy Jackie’s cuisine. I’ve been chasing her for about a year and it is truly an honor to announce her appointment. I wanted someone who was going to be awesome and, in Jackie, we are lucky enough to have gotten exactly that.”
No stranger to red meat, veteran Chicago Chef Shen brings seven years of experience at Lawry’s The Prime Rib to the Chicago Cut Steakhouse kitchen. Says Shen, “People think that when a chef goes to a place that the chef is going to fix something, create something, or change something. I am going there to learn something. And hopefully I will be able to enrich others.”
Shen plans to bring the full breadth of her culinary expertise to the Chicago Cut Steakhouse menu, drawing from her Asian roots, her French culinary training and global travels.
