Chicago q, the city’s newest hot spot for upscale barbecue, is adding a rotating roster of brunch specials every Saturday and Sunday to their already versatile lunch menu. Specials, created by Chef/Partner Lee Ann Whippen, will satisfy brunch-goers’ “sweet tooth” and the “meat tooth” by featuring house-made confections and smoked meats. Menu specials include Fried Chicken and Waffles, a deep fried airline chicken breast served with a savory buttermilk waffle; Kobe Brisket Hash, Brisket hash served with two eggs of choice and buttermilk biscuit; and Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast; Texas toast stuffed with mascarpone cheese topped with walnut butter, served with home fries.

Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast

Cityscape Bar, located on the 15th floor of the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, will host their April “Vino with a View” wine sampling on Thursday, April 21.
Guests are invited to sip and swirl an array of wines while enjoying stunning panoramic views of downtown’s River North. All attendees of “Vino with a View” will receive a 20% discount off dinner in ItaliAsia Restaurant after the event. In addition, they can enter to win an ItaliAsia “Tasting Room with a View Party” for 8 people which includes a five-course tasting menu paired with specialty wines.
Hosted by Tenzing Wine and Spirits, the event will highlight several varietals including: 2007 Naia Naiades, 2009 Vina Nora, 2007 CC Cabernet Sauvignon and 2008 Clos de Los Siete. Patrons can indulge in an assortment of small bites including Antipasto Trays, Cheese and Dried Fruit.

Chevy Chase Country Club kicks off their monthly ballroom dance classes on Wednesday, April 20 with the first dance of the season: an exciting evening of Tango in the historic Grand Ballroom. Originated in the mid-1800s, the Tango encompasses many styles that developed in Argentina and further, around the world, making it a truly global dance tradition. This event features live music by the 10-piece Dick Elliot Orchestra and instructional dance lessons by Chicago legends Bob and Penny Urbon, followed by three hours of open dancing. For those who need a little liquid courage, a cash bar is available (prices range from $3 – $10).
The majestic Chevy Chase Country Club Grand Ballroom maintains its original integrity from the 1920s, and its 5,000-square-foot hardwood dance floor, stage area and state-of-the-art sound and lighting system provide the perfect setting for ballroom dancing. The Abbey, with its vaulted ceiling and vintage horseshoe-shaped bar, provides a cash bar and is a great spot for gathering and socializing over cocktails in between dances.
