On Saturday, March 26 at 8:30 PM, lights will be flipped off for one full hour around the world as millions of people participate in Earth Hour. The movement began four years ago as an expression of concern for climate change, and last year it became the biggest Earth Hour ever when a record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action.
Chicagoans are invited to join Koi in Evanston and Chens in Wrigleyville for a candlelit celebration as they dim the lights for one hour. Over candlelight, guests can enjoy new signature maki rolls, specialty martinis and authentic Chinese and Thai cuisine.
Chicago is one of the many Illinois cities that signed the pledge to participate in Earth Hour, and many local bars and restaurants are supporting the movement.
