On Saturday, May 7 in celebration of the Kentucky Derby, Chicago q is going back to its Southern roots by opening at 10:00 AM to show the televised race.
Derby fans can look forward to exciting specials all day at Chicago q, including $5 Mint Juleps and $10 Bourbon Flights from the Bar; and $5 Derby Pie, Deviled Egg Flights and Smoked Ham Sliders from the kitchen, created by Chef/Partner Lee Ann Whippen.
The Deviled Eggs Flights feature Pork Belly, Horseradish Dill, and Mustard with Fried Caper fillings for $5.95; and the Apple Smoked Ham Biscuit Sliders with House-made Mustard and Ginger Apricot Chutney feature ham smoked in-house in Chicago q’s 1,000-pound Southern Pride smoker for $7.95.
Guests are invited to wear their finest Derby hats and the best hat of the day will be voted on via Facebook and the winner will receive a $100 Gift Card and a Gift Basket of Chicago q’s house-made sauces, rubs and pickles.
